How to Control Fabric, Thread and Trim Color in Bulk Production
A color name such as "navy" or a digital screen value is not enough to control a bulk activewear order. Fabric, thread, elastic, lining, mesh, heat-transfer logos and labels use different materials and processes, so they may reflect light differently even when they aim at the same visual color.
The objective is not always perfect instrumental identity. It is an approved, commercially acceptable coordination under defined viewing conditions.
Start with a clear color standard
The buyer should identify the controlling reference, such as an approved physical swatch, lab dip or other agreed standard. Digital images are useful for communication but can vary by screen, camera, editing and lighting.
For fabric dyeing, approval should identify color, fabric article, finish and relevant lot information. A shade approved on one construction may not look the same on another.

Lighting and communication
Color comparison should use consistent lighting suitable for the buyer's requirement. Metamerism can make two materials appear similar under one light and different under another. Where color is commercially critical, the buyer may define instrument data and tolerances with its textile or testing partner.
